“Have paintbrush, will travel.” With these words Mike Fitzpatrick closed the door on a long career in advertising and set out on a journey to cross the globe. The world that he saw he painted, creating an extraordinary series of works nearing a thousand in total.

Viewing his work one travels from the Cape Peninsula to New York, from Paris to Tokyo and back again through the landscapes of France, Holland and Tuscany, eventually ending up deep in the heart of Africa.

Although Mike passed away in 2006 his legacy still remains in his vibrant paintings that are available at the Skylight Galleries stall, run by Lulu Fitzpatrick. Art enthusiasts can find original artworks and limited edition prints by Mike and Lulu.

The stall offers a large selection of canvas prints available in all sizes. Ranging from R30 for mini prints on linen paper to R2400 for stretched canvas prints,  Skylight Galleries offers something for everyone.

Ley is a visual artist and performer, who works in a multidisciplinary manner in contemporary art. His artworks talk about the reality that he has seen on his travels throughout different countries and he draws his inspiration from happiness and amusing scenarios that surround him in everyday life.

Ley doesn’t work directly on canvas, but rather spends a lot of time sketching on paper until he finds the perfect result. He works with a variety of mediums such as coffee, acrylic, oil paint and a variety of others that make his paintings look beautiful. He brings positive energy and creative expression to his art. He combines his artworks with calligraphy in order to achieve his unique style and uses a theme of respect of Human Rights and dignity in the majority of his works.

Ley describes the experience of painting as a dance without music and something that he feels, rather than just does.

Be truly inspired by the colours, concepts and eco-friendliness of the amazing paintings by artist Roselle!

Having originally received training as a decor painter at the (former) Technicon Pretoria, painting copies of, among others, the Old Masters, has enabled her to work in a wide range of styles and mediums.

For the past couple of years Roselle has mostly created colourful, naive paintings drawing inspiration from scenes of the rural Cape.

All of the paintings and prints seen at her stall are set in recycled wooden frames – creativity and consciousness at its best!

All paintings are also re-produced in fridge magnets, coasters, bookmarks and postcards. A great souvenir to remind one of our beautiful country.
